The RED RIBBON

My school held the STOMPS AIDS CAMPAIGN today.

The purpose of this campaign is to educate people the correct information about AIDS.

HIV cannot be passed on through:
1.Kissing or touching
2.Spitting, coughing,sneezing
3.Toilet seats, swimming pools, or shared facilities or utensils

HIV is spread through
1. having sex with an infected person.
2.sharing infected needles, syringes or other injecting drug equipment.
3.from an HIV-positive mother (to her child) during pregnancy, childbirth or breastfeeding.
4.receiving infected blood and blood products.

Are AIDS and HIV the same?

No. They are not the same. When someone is described as living with HIV, they have the HIV virus in their body.AIDS, short for ‘Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome’, is the final and most serious stage of HIV. A person infected with HIV can take up to 10 years to develop AIDS.

Some Symptoms of HIV:
1.fever
2.sore throat
3.muscular stiffness or aching
4.headache
5.diarrhoea
6.swollen lymph glands

So the best way to prevent being affected by HIV to is be faithful to your partners. Avoid having premaritial sex.
